Here it is...the beginning of my blog. I suppose a little information about me is in order. I am a retired service member / veteran / musician who also loves to write. I have a lifelong love of reading and an overactive imagination. Naturally I've gravitated to writing.
I have just self-published my first book, "Nowonderland" on Amazon's Kindle platform. Inspiration came to me one day on the "thinking chair". I got to wondering what my version of a fantastical hidden world like Narnia, Wonderland, or Oz would look like and my head suddenly filled with ideas about what one might find there. Some of my ideas are loosely based from real life experiences, others...not so much.
I'm quite happy with the result and I think that readers around 10 and up will enjoy. There's also some over -the-head humor that I think adults would enjoy as well. It took me about three months to write and it came to me easier than anything else I've written yet. I already have ideas for a sequel too.
Synopsis: Billy, twelve, is an only child of a single mother when they have to move into his father's childhood home. He soon finds himself trapped in a fantasy world that he has to traverse to leave. He has many adventures along the way and meets a crazy cast of characters who help him out. He also finds a connection to his past he never knew existed.
I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
